Request for Proposals: Advancing Formalization and Legalization of the Mica Sector in Jharkhand and Bihar, India

The Responsible Mica Initiative (RMI) is pleased to announce the publication of a Request for Proposals (RFP) aimed at advancing the formalization and legalization of the mica sector in Jharkhand and Bihar, India.

This initiative seeks to address the challenges of informality and illegality in mica mining, empowering communities and ensuring sustainable, responsible mica supply chains. The selected agency will play a pivotal role in stakeholder engagement, advocacy, and the development of a comprehensive roadmap for the sector’s transformation.

Key objectives include:

  • Engaging diverse stakeholders, including government entities, local businesses, civil society, and international experts.
  • Organizing multi-stakeholder consultations and forming working groups to drive change.
  • Developing actionable frameworks for both artisanal and industrial mica mining.

The deadline for proposal submissions is December 15, 2024, at 17:00 IST.
